Dr. Soonhoi Ha is a full professor at Seoul National University’s (SNU) Department of Computer Science and Engineering, where he has made significant contributions to embedded systems, hardware/software co-design, and IoT research. With a career spanning decades in academia and industry collaborations, Dr. Ha is recognized as a thought leader in his field.
He has been an IEEE Fellow since 2017 and a regular member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea (NAEK) since 2024. His editorial expertise includes serving as an Associate Editor for the ACM Transactions on Embedded Computing Systems. Additionally, Dr. Ha co-edited the Handbook of HW/SW Codesign (Springer). He has also held key leadership roles in academia, including serving as the Director of SNU’s Faculty Learning and Development Center from 2016 to 2018.
Dr. Ha has actively contributed to global research communities, notably as General Chair of ESWEEK 2018, one of the most prestigious conferences in the embedded systems field. His research in IoT has led to award-winning innovations, including the DAC University Demonstration 1st Prize (2017) for an IoT technology demonstration.
